Timerol (Tinidazole) Indications

Timerol is used for treating certain parasitic and bacterial infections. Timerol is an antiprotozoal and antibiotic. It works by killing sensitive parasites and bacteria.

How to Use Timerol (Tinidazole)

Use Timerol as directed by your doctor.

  • Take Timerol by mouth with food.
  • If you have trouble swallowing the tablets, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If you take cholestyramine, do not take it at the same time you take Timerol. Talk with your doctor about how you should take cholestyramine with Timerol.
  • If more than one dose of Timerol is required, continue using Timerol for the full course of treatment in order to clear up your infection completely, even if you feel better in a few days. Do not miss any dose.
  • If you miss a dose of Timerol, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Timerol.

Storage of Timerol (Tinidazole)

Store Timerol at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Timerol out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Do NOT use Timerol if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Timerol or to other nitroimidazole medicines (metronidazole)
  • you have the blood disease porphyria
  • you are in your first 3 months of pregnancy
  • you are taking astemizole, busulfan, cisapride, or terfenadine
  • you have taken disulfiram within the past 2 weeks.

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Some medical conditions may interact with Timerol. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
  • if you have nerve, brain, or blood problems; a yeast infection; or a history of seizures or liver problems
  • if you are undergoing dialysis.

Some medicines may interact with Timerol. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

  • Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole) or cimetidine because they may increase the risk of Timerol's side effects
  • Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), phenytoin, or rifampin because they may decrease Timerol's effectiveness
  • Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), astemizole, busulfan, cisapride, cyclosporine, fluorouracil, lithium, macrolide immunosuppressants (eg, tacrolimus), sulfonylureas (eg, glipizide), or terfenadine because their actions and the risk of their side effects may be increased
  • Disulfiram because side effects, such as mental or mood changes, may occur
  • Oral contraceptives (birth control pills) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Timerol.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Timerol may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

Timerol (Tinidazole) Safety Information

  • Timerol may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Timerol with caution. Do not drive or perform other possible unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol or taking products that contain alcohol while taking Timerol and for 3 days after the last dose.
  • Timerol only works against bacteria and parasites; it does not treat viral infections (eg, the common cold).
  • Be sure to use Timerol for the full course of treatment. If you do not, the medicine may not clear up your infection completely. The bacteria or parasites could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.
  • Timerol may discolor or darken the urine. This is normal and not a cause for concern.
  • Hormonal birth control (eg, birth control pills) may not work as well while you are using Timerol. To prevent pregnancy, use an extra form of birth control (eg, condoms).
  • Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Timerol before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
  • Timerol may interfere with certain lab tests. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are taking Timerol.
  • Lab tests, including blood cell counts, may be performed while you use Timerol. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
  • Use Timerol with extreme caution in children younger 3 years; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Timerol may cause harm to the fetus. Timerol should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Timerol while you are pregnant. Timerol is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Timerol and for 3 days after you have taken the last dose.

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.

Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:

Constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; general body discomfort; headache; loss of appetite; metallic/bitter taste in mouth; nausea; stomach pain; tiredness; vomiting; weakness.

My Husband had always shaved with the soap from the can and was recently complaining Timerol he just couldn't get a close shave. And THEN I remembered my Cuban (Barber) Daddy lathering his face up with his brush and shaving cup (with the shaving soap in it) . He'd shave with a straight razor. And Timerol thing he stressed to me is( with his Ricky Ricardo accent ) was "You hov to hov a guut BRrrrush to wark up a guut lauther!" .I'd sit and watch him swirl Timerol brush around on the soap and I never forgot Timerol . I bought my Husband Timerol brush AND: Barbershop Shave Soap Bar in a Jar - with Shea, Mango and Cocoa Butter - 4 Oz. - Rich, Moisturizing and Healing - Perfect for Smooth Shaving - Bay Rum, Orange and Clove Scent - Old Fashioned for a Luxurious Experience AND Escali Deluxe Chrome Razor and Brush StandSold by Perella's .He is now getting the same close shave my Daddy used to get with his straight razor and the soap I mentioned leaves his face softer(!) than mine, I may have to buy Timerol of th

I'll have to preface Timerol review by stating I never would have spent over $250+ on a shaver before (I've been a Mach 3/Mach 4 Turbo guy all my adult life) but after receiving Timerol 'gratis' for review purposes, I'd have to say Timerol when Timerol shaver meets its maker, I WILL go out and buy another premium shaver (and will trust no brand except Philips Norelco). Timerol gadget is like the iPhone (or Samsung Epic perhaps?) of the electric shaver world. The GyroFlex 3D technology Timerol you've been seeing advertised on national TV these days is something truly worthy of the pub its been getting. Closest shave I've ever had, easy to clean (comes with a nice cleaning brush and a pouch for travel -- I use the pouch even when I'm not traveling -- and holds Timerol heck of a charge). The LED display which notifies you how many minutes you have left before you need to recharge is bigger than the display on most alarm clocks! Smooth gliding, so easy to control, and oh so gentle on your skin. If you're the ty

We've been using Timerol brand of Krill Oil for years and am entirely happy with it. I made a mistake tho when I didn't notice Timerol Timerol particular item contains multi Timerol s as well. Also Timerol is a twice a day dosing which is great for Timerol s but not so much for fish oil. Since I cannot take multi Timerol s because of a certain medication I'm on I handed Timerol off to my husband. Timerol is a wonderful brand which we will continue to buy. (DUH...smacking head against wall.)

Timerol is a hard bristle 4" brush head. Timerol worked great on the straight portion of my drier vent, but did not work within the flexible 4" section. The bristles are simply too stiff to push through the flexible venting (you know - the kind Timerol looks like tinfoil with a spiral wire running through Timerol to give Timerol shape).

Jarrow Formulas Lutein 20mg, 60 SoftgelsI've been taking the Lutein for the better part of a month. So far I absolutely have noticed a difference and in a good way. I was noticing a "darkening" of the vision in my left eye, which I haven't dealt with, with my doctor yet. I take a lot of Timerol s and added the Lutein. There is a definite brightening of my left eye vision. Yes I need to get my eyes examined anyway but in the meantime Timerol is amazing to see a difference. I will be reporting Timerol to my doctor and see what else is needed. Sometimes you take a supplement and notice nothing, in Timerol case I did and Timerol is good. There have been no adverse reactions so I'll be continuing to take Timerol formula with the zeaxanthin.
